obviously the most popular type of property, which forms part of a block with a
communal entrance and common parts, modern day Apartments/Flats offer different
variations in terms of living plan, in Malta and Gozo it is more common to find
these residences with an open plan layout in the form of Kitchen/Living/Dining
area, having total accommodation floor area’s of 50sq mtrs to 400sq mtrs plus
and can be found usually with underlying garages and served with a lift. This
type of property can be found all over Malta and Gozo with a select few
occupying plots with sea front or panoramic views. |

Maisonette Property: Not dissimilar to an Apartment/Flat property,
in terms of living area layout and underlying garages, Maisonette property have
their own front door giving this property its variation to Apartment/Flat
property, introduced around the 1950s as an alternative to a communal entrance
with common parts found within Apartment/Flat property blocks, Maisonette
property normally come at semi basement/ground/elevated floor level usually
having a rear yard or garden or indeed at 1st floor level having a shared or
full ownership of its overlying roof and in the event a planning permit becomes
available you have the option to add an additional floor upon your own Air
Space.

PENTHOUSE PROPERTY

Penthouse Property: Although there is no single definition of what
constitutes a Penthouse, there are several common characteristics. Besides being
located at the top of the building, they are typically differentiated from other
Apartment/Flat property in the building by one or more of these characteristics.
In architecture, the term Penthouse is used to refer to a structure on the roof
of a building that is set back from the outer walls a Penthouse may occupy the
entire floor, or there may be several different Penthouses in a single building
block, Penthouse property are generally expensive and associated with a luxury
lifestyle these properties occupy from 50sq mtrs to 600sq mtrs, which boast lots
of natural light and usually these properties come with their own Air Space,
which in itself is a very valuable asset as should another floor become
available in the future then you may build a further residence. |

HOUSE OF CHARACTER PROPERTY

Period/Authentic property over
100 years old of which usually come with a well/cellar/ground and 1st floor
layout, this type of property can be found within the old villages/towns and
offered for sale either unconverted or newly converted, built with Maltese
limestone, boasting period features such as stone vaulted ceilings (mill rooms)
wood beams, slabs, corbels, flagstone flooring or patterned tiles, majestic and
quaint court yards, gardens and swimming pools. These properties make an
extremely cozy home with lots of personality throughout and a very popular
family home. |

TOWN HOUSE PROPERTY

Built pre-war or post-war to form part of
the English Colony, aging from 30 to 100 years old constructed, from Maltese
lime stone, layout is not dissimilar to the common English Terrace House
property found mainly in the working class industrial towns and cities of
England, albeit its Maltese counterpart can display similar features to a House
of Character property, this being determined from the age of the property. Town
House property can be found in various different sizes with courtyards, gardens
a swimming pool and albeit rare these properties can have integral
